After working for the Family Haulage Business for 21 years I decided to go it alone.

Where have the years gone?

In 1992, I rented my first office and yard in Nechells, Birmingham. Steve Benton Transport consisted of one lorry which was driven by myself, one desk and one phone. I was extremely fortunate as I had very good friends in the haulage industry who supported my new venture.

Six years flew by and I saw myself having to change yards on a couple of occasions due to the growing of my business which took me to the yard I am still at now, (21 years later) at Garretts Green. By 1998 I was running a fleet of 12 trucks.

Steve Benton Transport has faced some challenging times, one being the 2009 recession. Ten years later in 2019, we are still proudly standing and now the fleet has grown to 70 vehicles. I am proud to say I have two of my children working for the business. Hayley, who holds her Transport Manager CPC and class 2 driving licence. Oliver, who drives for the company having passed his class 2 and class 1 driving licence and managed to pass both of these by the age of 19!

I have my very loyal staff (both office and drivers) and also all of my customers to thank as without you all Steve Benton Transport would not be where it has got to today after 27 years in business. There is never a challenge to big or small, we will always achieve everything and anything. I look forward to what the future holds and thank you all again.

Many thanks Steve Benton
